Dear friends,
I’m Anita Vallabh, founder of Global Indian Artist™.
As a classical Indian dancer, critic, and cultural commentator, I’ve spent years navigating the shifting intersections of tradition and innovation, diaspora and identity—through my performances and writings for platforms like Narthaki.comand Sruti.
Over time, I began to see what was missing: a space where the emotional and intellectual journeys of artists could be held with care—not just celebrated, but also questioned, remembered, and preserved. And just as urgently, a space to represent our arts and artists on the global stage, where South Asian voices are still too few. With GIA, I hope to amplify these voices, ensuring they are seen, heard, and valued wherever art and culture are being shaped.
Global Indian Artist™ was born from this need—to be a platform where dance and movement are not only performed, but also felt, understood, and archived with integrity. Where art engages with community, memory, and social justice.
Here, artists and audiences meet in shared emotional landscapes, creative tensions, and the quiet courage it takes to move—across stages, cultures, and histories. We make space for complexity, nuance, and transformation.
If you’ve ever asked yourself:
How can dance become a language of belonging in the diaspora?
What does it mean to preserve—or transform—tradition across oceans?
How can movement challenge injustice and reimagine identity?
What inner landscapes shape an artist’s work?
How do we critique with both honesty and compassion?
How will history remember us?
Then welcome to Global Indian Artist™—where diaspora, dance, dialogue, and justice converge.
